Update 12/09/2024 - New Trailer!

Hello there!

Well, do I have something special for you!

As you can probably tell from the link attached, I've released a BRAND NEW teaser trailer for Rising Darkness! This is no way perfect, and for my first ever trailer in UE4, I'm pretty damn proud of it. I decided the way to go with this was a small teaser to show the engine a little and tease what's to come.

With that being said, I would like to announce that I am aiming to have a Demo released by December. I'm working hard to get everything in place to have a Demo ready to go and ready to play before the end of the year. I am not going to say that this will definitely happen, but all going as well as it has so far, it is seeming VERY likely.

I am beyond excited to share more updates in the future with regards to the demo.

With that being said, I have been doing a lot of planning and looking back at previous plans when the game was being made in Game Guru Max.

If anyone saw any of the old videos on the YouTube channel, you may have seen the preview of the menu that was there, and on that, there was a tab for "Spec Ops" which was 3 separate game modes that the user could play; Extraction, Takedown and Outbreak. These were explained in previous Devlogs last year before the game was essential cancelled. When I decided to reboot this project, I decided to look at everything that I had planned again and make a few changes. One of these changes was to remove "Extraction" and "Takedown" for now.

So saying that, the new plan for release is to have the Main Campaign, which will follow the story of a Sith Soldier who hates the Jedi and Republic for reasons that I'll leave as a surprise. Then, alongside this, I am in the early stages of planning "Outbreak". A round based horde mode where the player must discover the reason for the Rakghoul Outbreak on Alderaan. The plan is to have 3 or 4 maps for this that can be played in order for the story, or randomly just to slaughter those infected with the Rakghoul Virus. The maps for this will potentially be similar to other "Zombie Modes" where you can unlock doors and weapons using points acquired from kills.

And finally... This is still a "Maybe", but I am looking at ways to implement both Co-Op campaign play, and/or Multiplayer. These are only a potential addition for now, but I will discuss that further in the future.

For now, feel free to check out my YouTube Channel and watch the previous videos and the new Trailer!

Cheers!
